Description
How to Use the Sales Prospecting & Outreach Prompt System for B2B Teams
What This Prompt Does
This prompt generates a complete, prospect-specific outreach system for B2B sales reps. Given four inputs about your company, your product, your target buyer, and one piece of prospect intelligence, it produces four ready-to-use outputs: a Prospect Intelligence Brief, a Cold Outreach Opener (email + LinkedIn), a Multi-Touch Follow-Up Sequence, and Objection-Ready Response Templates.
Step 1 — Gather Your Four Required Inputs
Before running the prompt, collect the following:
- COMPANY_NAME: The name of your company. Example: Notion, Gong, Outreach.io.
- PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE: What you are selling and the primary outcome it delivers. Be specific. Bad: CRM software. Good: AI-powered CRM that reduces rep data entry by 60% and surfaces deal risk before it becomes churn.
- TARGET_ICP: Your ideal customer profile. Include industry, company size range, and the job title of the person you are contacting. Example: Series B to Series D SaaS companies, 50 to 300 employees, targeting VP of Sales or Head of Revenue Operations.
- PROSPECT_CONTEXT: The single most important field. Paste in any intelligence you have about this specific prospect or account — a LinkedIn post, a news article, a job posting, a funding announcement, a tech stack signal, or a mutual connection. The more specific, the better the output.
Step 2 — Set Your Optional Parameters (or Accept Defaults)
- SALES_GOAL: What do you want the prospect to do? Default is booking a 20-minute discovery call.
- SEQUENCE_LENGTH: How many follow-up touchpoints do you want? Default is 5.
- COMPETITOR_AWARE: Set to true if you want one touchpoint to subtly address competitive displacement without naming a competitor directly.
Step 3 — Paste Your Inputs Into the Prompt
Replace each parameter label with your actual values. Do not leave any required parameter blank. If you do, the prompt will return an error message asking you to supply the missing field.
Step 4 — Review the Four Output Sections
- Section 1 is your Prospect Intelligence Brief. Read it before sending anything — it will surface a non-obvious angle you may have missed.
- Section 2 is your Cold Outreach Opener. One email under 120 words and one LinkedIn message under 75 words, both ready to send.
- Section 3 is your Multi-Touch Follow-Up Sequence. Each touchpoint uses a different channel and a different angle. Deploy them across 10 to 15 business days.
- Section 4 is your Objection-Ready Response Templates — word-for-word replies to not interested, send me more info, and we already have something.
Step 5 — Personalize the Final 10 Percent
This prompt gets you to 90 percent ready. Before sending, add your name, confirm company-specific details are accurate, and verify that any trigger event referenced is still current. Never send without a 60-second human review.
Pro Tips
- The richer your PROSPECT_CONTEXT input, the more surgical the output. A single specific detail transforms a good email into an unmissable one.
- If running this for multiple prospects in the same ICP, vary the PROSPECT_CONTEXT each time to avoid structural repetition.
- For founder-led sales, use COMPANY_NAME as your own name and PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE as your consulting offer. The system works equally well for personal outreach.
